Tin từ BBC cho biết ông Trần Xuân Bách, cựu Uỷ viên bộ Chính trị và là người có tư tưởng đa nguyên chính trị mới từ trần cách đây vài hôm. Ngày xưa từng nghe đồn là ông đã từng ngấp nghé chức Tổng bí thư sau ông Nguyễn Văn Linh cho tới khi bị thất thế (và chức vụ TBT sau đó được chuyển giao cho ông Đỗ Mười, đánh dấu sự dừng lại của quá trình cải cách chính trị mới nhen nhóm trong giai đoạn 1986-89). Sau khi bị kỷ luật, ông thôi giữ chức vụ Uỷ viên BCT và trở thành một chuyên viên nghiên cứu trong Bộ Ngoại giao của ông Nguyễn Cơ Thạch- một người theo đường lối cải cách. Khi ông Thạch về hưu, ông Bách cũng về theo.
Điều đáng tiếc là không thấy một báo điện tử trong nước nào đưa tin về việc ông Bách qua đời. Số phận ông Bách xem ra cũng hơi giống ông Triệu Tử Dương, cựu TBT Đảng Cộng sản Trung Quốc bị kỷ luật sau vụ Thiên An Môn và cũng vừa qua đời năm ngoái. Xin bày tỏ lòng kính trọng với ông Trần Xuân Bách và chúc ông ra đi bình an.
