Bridge Over Trouble Water

Simon & Garfunkel.

When you’re weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;
I’m on your side. When times get rough
And friends just can’t be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

When you’re down and out,
When you’re on the street,
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you.
I’ll take your part.
When darkness comes
And pain is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

Sail on silvergirl,
Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I’m sailing right behind.

Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.

  • That's a good S&G song. Another one that I like is "I Am A Rock".

    A winter's day
    In a deep and dark December;
    I am alone,
    Gazing from my window to the streets below
    On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.
    I am a rock,
    I am an island.

    I've built walls,
    A fortress deep and mighty,
    That none may penetrate.
    I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain.
    It's laughter and it's loving I disdain.
    I am a rock,
    I am an island.

    Don't talk of love,
    But I've heard the words before;
    It's sleeping in my memory.
    I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died.
    If I never loved I never would have cried.
    I am a rock,
    I am an island.

    I have my books
    And my poetry to protect me;
    I am shielded in my armor,
    Hiding in my room, safe within my womb.
    I touch no one and no one touches me.
    I am a rock,
    I am an island.

    And a rock feels no pain;
    And an island never cries.

  • @Vietpundit: That is a very good song. I like that song before but I don't notice the lyrics before.
    I wonder if this lyrics tells my real feeling.
    Another S&G song that I like is El Condor Pasa (what does it mean?)
    I’d rather be a sparrow than a snail
    Yes I would, if I could, I surely would
    I’d rather be a hammer than a nail
    Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would

    Away, I’d rather sail away
    Like a swan that’s here and gone
    A man gets tied up to the ground
    He gives the world it’s saddest sound
    Its saddest sound

    I’d rather be a forest than a street
    Yes I would, if I could, I surely would
    I’d rather feel the earth beneath my feet
    Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would

  • "I wonder if this lyrics tells my real feeling."

    I suspect that it does.

    I remembered one post where you said you like "Desperado" from the Eagles (which happens to be my favorite song), so I thought you probably like "I Am A Rock" too.

    Well, as "Desperado" says, you better let somebody love you, Linh, before it's too late. :-)

  • Off topic, anw...
    Tim Burton's Corpse Bride is strongly recommnded by Me. And if this is not strong enough for u to go see it although i think it is, check out imdb and ... Tim Burton. Ones who have watched The nightmare before Christmas will not need any affirmation.
    They stop showing Crash here just one day before the day i went to the cinema to check it out.
